I am starting a little early this year trying to get folks to be proactive about thrush prevention for the winter. Every winter I battle "the Big Stink" with many many horses. Thrush is harder to kill than it is to prevent! A case of thrush can be enough to make a horse sensitive in the heels and cause him to land toe first..... a BIG problem that can lead to tendon and joint damage, as well as preventing the hoof mechanism from functioning optimally.

| Hooves 101 course |
Thanks to all the participants in the Labor Day weekend Hooves 101 class. We had a great group.
There has been enough interest generated since then that I have decided to offer another Hooves 101 on October 11 and 12. Please email me for registration and additional information. The cost is $125 per person, and a brief course description can be found on the "Services" page.
